I haven't been able to talk as much about Women's hoops as much as I'd like, obviously. So I'm going to try to give them some justice here!
We're going to start with the Des Moines and Fresno regionals first.
DES MOINES!
(1) Baylor Bears vs. (4) Georgia Tech Yellowjackets
Baylor is really, really good. Undefeated. Potentially unstoppable. It's Tech's turn to try. The Bears have mauled through 9 Florida 76-57 and 16 UCSB 81-40. The Jackets have buzzed through 5 Georgetown 76-64, and 13 Sacred Heart 76-50. If Georgia Tech has an answer for Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims, now would be the time to use it.
Robby's pick: Baylor
(2) Tennessee Lady Vols vs. (11) Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas has been wrecking havoc on brackets this year, upsetting 6 Nebraska 57-49 and 3 Delaware 70-64 (side note, if Elena Delle Donne needs some help coping with the loss, she can call me anytime). Tennessee has been Tennessee, winners over 7 DePaul 63-48 and 15 UT-Martin 72-49. I think this is the end of the road for the 'Hawks.
Robby's pick: Tennessee
FRESNO!
(1) Stanford Cardinal vs. (5) South Carolina Gamecocks
Stanford has been cruising along, taking down 8 West Virginia 72-55, and 16 Hampton 73-51. South Carolina has looked solid as well, eliminating 4 Purdue 72-61 and 12 Eastern Michigan 80-48. This will be an excellent game, but look to Stanford to survive and advance.
Robby's pick: Stanford
(2) Duke Blue Devils vs. (3) St. John's Red Storm
This part of the bracket has pretty well played out by seeds. Duke has defeated 7 Vanderbilt 96-80, and 15 Samford 82-47, looking dominant each step of the way. St. John's has downed 6 Oklahoma 74-70 and 14 Creighton 68-67. They've had their srtuggles, but have won nonetheless. Look to Duke to continue their strong play here. I just don't know that St. John's can beat them.
Robby's pick: Duke
