JACKS ON JACKS ON JACKS!

Previews & Picks for tonight's College Hoops action (All Times Eastern).
Picks this year (hey, it's day 2 for us): 5-7
Early Action:
Morgan State Bears vs. Hampton Pirates (11am)
MEAC Tournament (1st Round); Winston-Salem, NC
-Neither of these two teams are very good. The MEAC tends to be one of the lowest rated conference and this game showcases that. Morgan State (9-19, 6-10) is coming off a two game win streak, whereas Hampton's (10-20, 6-10) on a two game slide. They traded wins on their own home courts, and this should be a close one in Winston-Salem. I'm taking Morgan State due to a Fat Joe giving them a shout out back in '02.
DePaul Blue Demons vs. Connecticut Huskies (12pm)
Big East Tournament (1st Round); New York, NY (ESPN2)
-If you get the misfortune of watching DePaul (12-18, 3-15) play basketball... I'm sorry. They just don't match up at all in this conference. The last time these teams played was on February 15th in Stoors, where UCONN (18-12, 8-10) handled the Blue Demons 80-54. I'm not giving much hope to 'em this time either. UCONN wins in a blow out.
Howard Bison vs. North Carolina A&T Aggies (1:30pm)
MEAC Tournament (1st Round); Winston-Salem, NC
-Of course, I was about to go to bed until I realized, oh fuck, I haven't wrote previews. The good Lord has decided to punish me with MEACtion. Howard (9-20, 6-10) is awful. A&T (12-19, 7-9) isn't much better. I flipped a coin. It says go with the Aggies. So go forth Aggies and make me look like the MEAC expert I am (also, Howard lost the lone matchup this year).
Pittsburgh Panthers vs. St. John's Red Storm (2pm)
Big East Tournament (1st Round); New York, NY (ESPN2)
-Pittsburgh (16-15, 5-13), you tease. You come in to the season ranked. You get into the Big East schedule sitting at 11-2. Bad things happen, and I mean bad. Eight game losing streak... yikes. Then, you tear off 4 in a row and it looks like your back!!! Your not. St. John's (13-18, 6-12) is a young team and with their coach's medical situation it's just been an all around rough year for the Storm. I'm going to take St. John's... home crowd, the young guys have to be excited.
Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks vs. North Carolina Central Eagles (4pm)
MEAC Tournament (1st Round); Winston-Salem, NC
-Well, here's a MEAC game with some space to it. NCCU (16-14, 10-6) isn't good by any means, but they are light years ahead of their competition. UMES (7-22, 4-12) is toast after tonight, that's all I really care to say here.
The Later Games:
South Carolina State Bulldogs vs. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (6:30pm)
MEAC Tournament (1st Round); Winston-Salem, NC
-If you go 0-fer in the MEAC, like SC State (5-25, 0-16) did this year... no one is picking you to win. BC (15-16, 11-5) has this one in the bag, easy.
Duquesne Dukes vs. Massachusetts Minutemen (7pm)
Atlantic 10 Tournament (1st Round); Amherst, MA
-In their previous match-up back in January, Duquesne (16-14, 7-9) scored an 11 point victory over the minutemen. Now UMass (20-10, 9-7) will attempt to return the favor. Both teams have stumbled down the stretch here, and fortunately for the Minutemen, they get home court. UMass by 5.
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs. North Texas Mean Green (7pm)
Sun Belt Tournament Championship; Hot Springs, AR
-Thought things couldn't get hotter in Hot Springs? Then you're dumb, cuz EVERYTHING is hotter in the Sun Belt. Tony Mitchell? Check. He's a Mean Green (18-13, 9-7) Rebounding Machine. The strange red blog of a mascot for WKU (14-18, 7-9)? Oh yes ladies, he'll be there looking fine as hell. Hold on tight, cuz North Texas is about to go dancing.
George Washington Colonials vs. Dayton Flyers (7pm)
Atlantic 10 Tournament (1st Round); Dayton, OH
-What the fuck, Dayton (19-11, 9-7)? I barely know anyone in this conference but you! How are you going to not be good? ARGH! Oh well, luckily for you, you just got through kicking GWU's (10-20, 5-11) collective ass here in Dayton three days ago. Do it again.
Richmond Spiders vs. La Salle Explorers (7pm)
Atlantic 10 Tournament (1st Round); Philadelphia, PA
-So what, La Salle (20-11, 9-7). I bashed you on Twitter yesterday. You deserved it. You beat Bucknell. Those my boys, La Salle. You need to avenge that loss in Richmond to the Spiders (16-15, 7-9). Explore your options. Come back with a victory.
Providence Friars vs. Seton Hall Pirates (7pm)
Big East Tournament (1st Round); New York, NY (ESPNU)
-Let's get serious here. A lot of people have Seton Hall (19-11, 8-10) on the bubble. They're definitely in trouble if they drop this game. The Friars (15-16, 4-14) are struggling this year, however, so the Pirates should have little trouble advancing. Last meeting in Providence ended in a W for the away crowd. Seeing a lot of the same tonight.
Charlotte 49ers vs. Saint Joseph's Hawks (7pm)
Atlantic 10 Tournament (1st Round); Philadelphia, PA
-In their last trip to Philly, the Niners (13-16, 5-11) came away with a close win. However, January 7 was a long time ago and what started as a mostly promising season went south in a hurry. St. Joseph's (19-12, 9-7) got the coaching advantage, and home court. I see the Hawks pulling out a W this time through.
Pennsylvania Quakers vs. Princeton Tigers (7:30pm)
Ivy League Regular Season; Princeton, NJ
-This game is HUGE. If the Quakers (19-11, 11-2) win, they force a playoff with Harvard for the Ivy League Regular Season Title... and their NCAA Tournament berth. The Ivy League does not have an end of the season tournament like the other conferences (pretentious enough?), and Harvard would love to get out without playing an extra game. Princeton's (18-11, 9-4) looking to end their year on a high note, and position themselves for a run next year. Should be an awesome game and too bad ESPN can't show it. Dicks.
Portland State Vikings vs. Weber State Wildcats (7:30pm)
Big Sky Tournament (Semifinals); Missoula, MT
-If I'm Portland State (17-13, 10-6), I want no part of the Wildcats (23-5, 14-2) right now. They want revenge on Montana who ended their regular season on a very sour note. However, the Vikings may be able to catch Weber looking ahead. I'm taking PSU in a nail biter. Don't fall asleep at the wheel Weber.
Villanova Wildcats vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (9pm)
Big East Tournament (1st Round); New York, NY (ESPNU)
-The real losers of this game? Us. Why does ESPN think anyone wants to watch this steaming pile of shit? Oh, the alternative is MEACtion. Umm... well in that case. Rutgers (14-17, 6-12) by 3. Fuck you, Villanova (12-18, 5-13).
Florida A&M Rattlers vs. Coppin State Eagles (9pm)
MEAC Tournament (1st Round); Winston-Salem, NC
-The final game of the first round is the only one that appears to be good. The Rattlers (8--22, 6-10) have been known to do goofy things at this point in the season. Coppin State (14-15, 9-7) hasn't really been impressive in Conference Play either. So watch out, FAMU is heading to the next round.
Western Illinois Leathernecks vs. South Dakota State Jackrabbits (9pm)
Summit League Tournament Championship; Sioux Falls, SD (ESPN2)
-The stage is set. The Cinderella of the Summit, WIU (18-13, 9-9), has been upsetting everyone on their way to here. They've never been to the NCAA Tournament. On the other side of the court is South Dakota State (26-7, 15-3). The darlings of the home town crowd, who also have never danced. Someone's going to dance tonight in Sioux Falls. And it will be... JACKS ON JACKS ON JACKS.
Detroit Titans vs. Valparaiso Crusaders
Horizon League Tournament Championship; Valparaiso, IN (ESPN)
-Here's where the Horizon League's tournament is different than anyone else. You can host the championship game on your home court. Detroit's (21-13, 11-7) played Valpo (22-10, 14-4) close in both of their previous match ups and maybe something special is in the air to send the Titans to the Tourney for the first time since '99. I'm taking Valpo, but know I'm rooting for Detroit.
Eastern Washington Eagles vs. Montana Grizzlies
Big Sky Tournament (Semifinal); Missoula, MT
-This is going to be fucking awesome. Montana (23-6, 15-1) is taking down the Eagles (15-16, 8-8). No discussion needed.
